Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidyapith

Jagat Janani Sarada Devi is the divine consort of Bhagavan Sri Ramakrishna Deva. Sri Ramakrishna Deva used to say She is my power, Saraswati, Giver of Knowledge. The prophetic words of sri Ramakrishna were established by Sri Maa Sarada Devi. Sometime in 1920, when She was in her birth place Jayrambati, She wished that all the children of Jayrambati and its surroundings must be educated. According to Her wish Swami Saradananda Maharaj arranged an evening coaching center at Matri Mandir. Initially, children were taught by the Brahmacharins and Sannyasins of Matri Mandir. Later in 1938 it was shifted to present premises and in 1940 it was officially recognized as Ramakrishna Mission Sarada Vidhyapith, Jayrambati by the Government.

With the blessings of Sri Sarada Devi and the able administration of Ramakrishna Mission, the institute flourished. At the present, the institute has one high school and two Junior basic schools. Students from South Bengal such as Bankura, Hooghly, Medinipur, Bardhaman, even Pusulia are studying here.

The aim of this institute is to impart all round education to the children as taught by Sri Sri Thakur, Maa, Swamiji. Man making, character building and life building education is the curriculum of this institution. Academic education, cultural activities, sports, moral ethical and spiritual values are imparted to the students.

Students of this institution participate in national festivals like Independence Day of India, Republic Day of India, National Youth Day, Netaji’s Birthday, etc. They also participate in moral and cultural functions like Saraswati Puja, Sri Sarada Devi’s Birthday (Tithipuja), Teacher’s Day, Rabindra Jayanti, Children’s Day etc. Students are allowed to participate in sports, cultural competitions at the school level and outside Vidyapith. Senior students of this Institute participate in social activities, exhibitions, and visiting underdeveloped and remote villages for understanding the situations of people in rural Bengal. The Institute is providing scholarships for the poor students, student materials are also given to the needy students. This Institute is giving shelter to all types of students coming from farmers, laborers and from the backward society of this region.

In this connection we request all the admirers of this noble work to come forward and help to at least with the educational expenses of poor students, so that we can help students coming from poor and backward classes.
